Nominal Size
The ideal size of a part
Actual Size
The manufactured Size
Allowance
Minimum clearance or maximum interference
Actual Mating envelope
The largest envelope in which the part may fit
Minimum Material envelop
The minimum envelop in which the part must fit
Clearance fit
When an interal part fits into an external part with extra space
Interference Fit:
when the internal part is larger than the external part, os the parts must be forced (sanded) together
Limit Dimensions
ed to specify the maximum and minimum value for tolerancing
Unilateral tolerance
When the tolerance applies in one direction, and the other value is zero
Bilateral Tolerance
There's a tolerance in each direction
Tolerance Stacking
When you dimension things off other things, the tolerances stack. This would be 15 thou
Baseline Dimensionsing
This way you can easily determine the size
You need to add these: How to define a gear, All the different kinds of tolerancing (even the ones you've never heard of and will never use), all the info on the APEGA shit (mainly just the lists of where things counts) -> Could probably just ignore if you wanted. The rack and pinion stuff, how that's all defined. THis was only around 30% of the final and seemed like alot of pain to learn so you could probably ignore I did fine enough in the class without it
