  1. What nerve does blink reflex?

Ophthalmic nerve sensory. Facial nerve motor. V1: Touch from cornea. Sensory forehead, upper eyelid, bridge of nose. Trigeminal ganglia-->Superior orbital fissure

  2. Which nerves go through the superior orbital fissure?

    Oculomotor, Trochlear, Abducens, V1. 3,4,6, V1.

  3. Describe the Trigeminal nerve

V1 - Ophthalmic touch on forehead, bridge of nose, upper eyelid. Cornea Superior orbital fissure V2 - Maxillary Skin of cheeks, upper lip/teeth, inside nose. Foramen rotundum V3 - Mandibular Sensory chin, lower lip, teeth. Touch anterior 2/3 tongue. Muscles of mastication Foramen ovale

  4. Facial nerve efferent?

Special viseral efferent Facial expression muscles Stapedius Stylohyoid Posterior digastric General visceral efferent Submandiublar ganglion ptergopalatine ganglion Special visceral afferent taste 2/3 tongue. Located in geniculate ganglion-->internal acoustic meatus.

  5. Gag reflex tests what cranial nerves?

    Glossoharyngeal - Afferent Vagus- Efferent

  6. Describe the brachial arch I and what would happen with a defect?

Mandibular Arch "M's" Mastication, mandible, Meckel's cartilage. Maxilla Auditory tube Malleus & Incus Mandibular Trigeminal V3 *Would affect maxilla and ear.

  7. Describe brachial arch II

Second brachial arch "S's" Styloid process Stapes ear LeSSer horn of hyoid bone Palatine tonsil Facial -VII

  8. Describe brachial arch III

Greater horn of hyoid bone. Main body of hyoid. Inferior parathyroid, thymus. CN IX- glossopharyngeal

  9. Describe brachial arch IV

Forms thryoid cartilage Laryngeal cartilage Muscles of pharynx and larynx Superior parathyroid. Vagus nerve X.

  10. What makes the eardrum?

Endoderm and ectoderm come together without mesoderm. Pharygeal cleft and pouch come together.

  11. Difference in cleft lip and cleft palate?

Cleft lip typically caused by fusion failure of maxillary and medial nasal process. Cleft palate failure to fuse lateral palatine process and nasal septum or median palatine process. Primary palate part of Philitrum. Primary cleft palate is medial nasal prominence and maxillary prominence don't fuse. Secondary is maxillary prominence don't fuse together.

  12. What is Bell's Palsy?

Facial nerve damage. All muscles on side of affected nerve. Drooping eyelid, lack of nasolabial fold. Dryness in eye or mouth because lacrimal submandibular and sublingual glands. Cause: HSV Epstein-Barr Varicella-Zoster borrelia Burgdorferi (Lyme disease)

  13. What muscles pulls jaw forward and back?

Lateral pterygoid pulls jaw forward - chin out. Temporalis pulls jaw BACK. **Medial pterygoid work w/ massester close jaw. 1)Lateral pterygoid 2)Medial pterygoid 3)Buccinator

  14. Where does middle mengial artery enter skull?

    Through the foramen spinosum.

  15. Maxillary artery Inferior aleveolar artery Middle meningeal artery. Goes through foramen spinosum.
