  1. Ipv6<->Ipv4 migration

    Dual Stack: allows IPv4 and IPv6 to coexist in the same network Tunneling: allows the transport of a IPv6 packet over a IPv4 Network (it gets encapsulated into an IPv4 Header) Translation: Network Address Translation 64 (NAT64) Router translates IPv4 to IPv6 and viceVersa

  2. IPv6 format; 0 ommiting rule; ;; when used

    128 bits long Format: FFFF:FFFF:FFFF:FFFF:FFFF:FFFF:FFFF:FFFF leading zeros are removed to reduce length ex: 00AB -> AB ; 0FFC -> FFC ; 0000 -> 0 A row of only zeros can be replaced by "::". Only allowed to be used once in a address

  3. UDP

    User datagram protocol best effort sends all segments in a row without ACKs smaller header (less overhead) thus faster and used for voIP and streams where it's no necessary to have every frame correctly

  4. TCP

    Transmission control protocol reliable sends segments -> waits for ACKs->sends next segments... needs end to end connection (done with three way handshake)

  5. 3 way handshake (establish connection)

    destination device present in network. U here? source sends SYN(tag) destination device has active port with service. U offer sth? § dest. sends ACK(tag) and his own SYN(tag) ○ informs dest. that client want to make session on that port. I cum § source responds with ACK(tag)

  6. 3 way handshake ( end connection)
