  1. What can IMP be used for?

IMP (E-630) is widely used as a flavour enhancer. If we use IMP together with glutamate then we enhance the unami taste

  2. What can GMP be used for?

GMP is an additive used to reduce bitterness

  3. What can cAMP be used for?

cAMP can induce smooth muscle relaxation and peripheral vasodilatation.

  4. How are nucleotides/nucleosides obtained?

Nucleotides/ nucleosides are obtained from DNA and RNA extracted from m.o by chemical or enzymatic hydrolisis.

  5. Explain the extraction method during the RNA ezymatic hydrolysis.

We use yeast that are usually candida or sachharomices cervicie, cheap and easy. Then we obtain the microorganisms and then we can perform RNA extraction. We put the micro-organism in hot water, high pH, and then the RNA is released and then we just have to extract with HCl, which precipitates the RNA, and then remove the excess and then dehydrate that and finally when we rehydrate we add enzymes that cleave the RNA into individual nucleotides. After we purify it, which requires the addition of…
