  1. What is Newton's first law?

    An object will remain at rest or travelling at a constant velocity until it experiences a resultant force.

  2. What is Newton's second law?

    The acceleration of an object is proportional to the force. F=ma\text{F=ma}F=ma

  3. What is Newton's third law?

    Each force has an equal and opposite reaction force.

  4. What is special about the conservation of momentum?

    Momentum is always conserved when no external forces are acting, the momentum before is equal to the momentum after.

  5. What is the equation for momentum?

    p = m v\text{p = m v}p = m v

  6. What is an elastic collision?

    A collision where kinetic energy is also conserved.

  7. What is an inelastic collision?

    A collision where kinetic energy is not conserved.

  8. What is the relationship between force and momentum?

    The force is proportional to the change in momentum.

  9. What is the equation for an impulse?

    FΔt=Δ(mv)\text{F} \Delta \text{t} = \Delta \text{(mv)}FΔt=Δ(mv)

  10. What is an impulse?

    The change in momentum, FΔt\text{F} \Delta \text{t}FΔt .

  11. What is the area under a force-time\text{force-time}force-time graph?

    The impulse, FΔt\text{F} \Delta \text{t}FΔt .

  12. What are the safety precautions in cars ?

    Crumple zones increase the impact time, seat belts and air bags slow down passengers, and decrease the force.

  13. Is an explosion an elastic or inelastic collision?

    Inelastic as the kinetic energy is greater after.
