1. how does communication happen within the body

   each neuron picks up signals as the dendrites pass the signals down the axon, into the axon terminal, and into the synapse. the synapse then drops the neurotransmitter into the synaptic cleft between the first neuron's synapse and the next neuron's dendrites. the signal then passes the message on to neuron #2
