1. Superior

   Towards the head

2. Inferior

   Away from the head

3. Anterior

   Near the front of the body

4. Posterior

   Near the back of the body

5. Medial

   Going towards the midline

6. Lateral

   Going away from the midline

7. Intermediate

   Between two parts

8. Ipsilateral

   On the same side of the body

9. Contralateral

   On opposite sides of the body

10. Proximal

    Nearer to the point of attachment

11. Distal

    Further away from the point of attachment

12. Superficial

    Towards the surface of the human body

13. Deep

    Away from the surface

14. Parietal

    Pertains to the outer wall of the body cavity

15. Visceral

    Pertains to the covering of an organ

16. Sagittal Plane

    Divides/cuts the body into L/R halves

17. Midsagittal

    Cuts into equal L/R halves

18. Parasagittal

    Cuts into unequal L/R halves

19. Frontal Plane

    Cuts body into anterior and posterior portions

20. Transverse Plane

    Cuts body into superior and inferior portions
